Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come. 2 Corinthians 5:17
I created this tumblr name a while back, but I wasn’t sure what I wanted to use it for, but now I’m at a place now where I’ve decided to use this space to talk about my own personal journey.
Right now I’m finishing up my first year of medical school and as ironic as it may be, my own health is falling apart. I’m at my highest weight right now at 220 pounds and standing at only 5’1”. This puts me at a BMI in the obese category. I have type II diabetes and was diagnosed about 8 and a half years ago. Right now I’m managing it without medications, but I’m afraid that I may have to go back. I’m having a sleep study done later this month to check for sleep apnea because I’ve been feeling overly tired as of late and don’t think it’s just due to being a medical student.
These are just a few of the things that are weighing heavy on my mind. In the past, I’ve tried to deny these things and put them out of my mind, but it’s time now to really face it and see that my life really be transformed into the new creation God has created me as.
I’m hoping that this blog will be a place to share my struggles and joys and to also be a place of encouragement to others, but most of all, I hope that this blog, my life, will be a testament to God’s goodness and faithfulness.
